I've been looking for this for so long: an Unschooling Course of Study, courtesy of one of Shelby's favorite Broadway shows, RENT.
The song: La Vie Boheme. Here's a little taste of the lyrics:
To hand-crafted beers made in local breweries
To yoga, to yogurt, to rice and beans and cheese
To leather, to dildos, To curry Vindaloo
To Huevos Rancheros, and Maya Angelou
MAUREEN & COLLINS
Emotion, devotion, to causing a commotion,
Creation, Vacation
MARK
Mucho masturbation
MAUREEN & COLLINS
Compassion, to fashion, to passion
When it's new
COLLINS
To Sontag
ANGEL
To Sondheim
FOUR PEOPLE
To anything taboo
COLLINS & ROGER
Ginsberg, Dylan, Cunningham and Cage
[La Vie Boheme lyrics on http://www.metrolyrics.com]
COLLINS
Lenny Bruce
ROGER
Langston Hughes
MAUREEN
To the stage!
PERSON #1
To Uta
PERSON #2
To Buddha
PERSON #3
Pablo Neruda, too
MARK & MIMI
Why Dorothy and Toto went over the rainbow
To blow off Auntie Em
ALL
La Vie Boheme!
And just so you know, this show closes on Broadway this year, June 1. If you've got the chance, go see it.

Unschooling flicks?
Unschooling and movies just go together, dontcha agree?
We have been watching some great ones lately...Animaniacs (remember them?), Sherrybaby, An Evening with Kevin Smith, Fruits Basket (Japanese Anime), The Pillow Book, etc. I've been on a big documentary kick, lately. One of my recent faves was This Film is Not Yet Rated.
All of these great flicks courtesy of Netflix.com, which I'm lovin'. Do any of you Netflix users want to become one of my peeps? Check it out:
"Connect to me and we'll be able to see what each of us is watching, share suggestions, and leave notes on movies. There is a world of cool movie browsing using these Friends features. Let's do it!"
http://www.netflix.com/BeMyFriend/P6cNPt3s6mFK0UZrPflB
And if you have any ideas for fave movies that show unschooling in ACTION, do pass them along. Don't worry...we've seen Ferris Bueller's Day Off already!
